A popart, portrait artist Glenn is originally from the leafy suburbs of Belfast but is now firmly established as a Dublin based artist.
Hugely inspired by the likes of Andy Warhol and Shepard Fairey, Glenn strives to have his work instantly recognisable as the intended subject as well as recognisable as his work.
His work has been described in the USA as “Precision Impressionism” with the author, Larissa DePalma, continuing: “Glenn is impressionistic as he breaks figures down into blocks of colour… close up almost abstraction but as you step away the blocks flow together to form the subject in the most precise way possible.
A modern day technical Monet”
From humble beginnings Glenn took to painting to escape reality during a huge upheaval in his personal circumstances.
Solo and group exhibitions followed most notably in:
- ArtCetera Gallery, Belfast
- The Malahide Gallery, Malahide, Dublin
- Swords Castle, Swords, Dublin
- Ardgillan Castle, Balbriggan, Co. Dublin
- Gallery No.6, Dublin
- Dublin Airport
- Warehouse Arts Centre, Balbriggan, Co. Dublin
- Red Stables, Dublin
- REDS Gallery, Dublin
His collectors include Donal Gallagher, brother of the late, great Rory Gallagher, (Glenn has a Rory Gallagher album cover, The French Connection, in his portfolio) and Steve Garrigan, Kodaline front man.
Proud to have pieces all over the world he continues to develop his craft with local galleries as well as representation in Milan, Italy with the Art Gate Gallery.
Two open invitations for exhibitions in Spain with Art Nou Millenni in Barcelona and L’atelier, Malaga are to be explored soon.
Glenn also has 20+ Original pieces and limited edition prints on permanent display with the Dublin Airport Authority in their VIP and Executive lounges.
